Colonel Bob Stewart DSO
An army officer for 26 years, Colonel Bob Stewart is best known for his command of the United Nations peacekeeping forces in Bosnia. He has worked in some of the toughest circumstances in the world, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for leadership and gallantry.
He has been a broadcaster in news and current affairs – seen regularly as a commentator on all the main television channels – and he is now an MP for Beckenham in Kent, having been elected in May 2010.
During his long career in the Army he has been an intelligence officer, company commander, Sandhurst instructor, staff officer, military assistant, commanding officer and Colonel, serving in countries across the world.
He holds a 1st Class Degree in International Politics from the University of Wales and is a fellow of Kingston University Business and Law School. He is also the Chairman of the Independent Defence Media Association.
Bob speaks to differing audiences on subjects such as leadership in adverse conditions, negotiation, crisis management, planning a complex operation, team building, peace-keeping, the military and politics and the future utility of defence policies and military power. He uses all his operational experiences, backed up by extensive visuals as an invaluable aid to business decision-making.
